Take a walk through our elementary school and you’ll be surprised at what you find. Students dressed as pioneers sewing together a quilt or playing “jump the creek.” A student lying on a table pretending to be in surgery to help his classmates learn about “dissecting” sentences. You may hear a Spanish conversation coming from a classroom or see groups of students using Legos to help understand math and science concepts. You might see high school students working with younger students on a solar power project or solving a problem on the electronic Smart Board. What you are witnessing is EPIC learning. EPIC stands for Experiential, Participatory, Image driven, Connected learning. This type of learning engages the students, keeping their attention and allowing students to grasp concepts no matter what their learning style. Come visit our halls and look for ways EPIC learning is taking place.
