Child Find is the process of identifying, locating, and evaluating children with disabilities who may be in need of special education and related services. Both state and local education agencies are given the responsibility by federal and state laws to conduct child find activities so that children who need special services have the opportunity to receive those services. If you (as parent of a Troy Christian student) or Troy Christian School suspects your child of having a disability, we send the referral for testing to Troy City Schools because Troy Christian is in their district. Your home district will be notified as a courtesy, but the responsibility for identifying your child belongs to Troy City regardless of your city of residence. If your child is identified, you can choose to return to your city of residence for those services, or opt to have a Service Plan developed by Troy Christian, in collaboration with Troy City Schools. For further information about the process, please contact Miss Rosengarten at srosengarten(at)troychristianschools.org.
