Graduation Requirements

  1. Pass all parts of The Ohio Graduation Test.
  2. Earn a minimum of 24 credits in the following subject areas, in addition to a credit of Bible for each year of attendance at TCHS:
  • Four credits (years) in English [3 English credits must be earned through TCS classes]
  • Three credits (years) in Mathematics (four credits for class of 2015 and beyond)
  • Three credits (years) in Science
  • Three credits in Social Studies (American History, Current Social Issues, World History, and American Government, and Economics required)
  • One-half credit in Physical Education (2 classes that are ¼ credit each) or Alternative PE through a sport or cheerleading
  • One-half credit in Health
  • One-half credit in Oral Interpretation (Speech)
  • One credit in Technology
  • One credit in Foreign Language (two credits for class of 2015 and beyond)
  • One credit in Fine Arts
  • One additional credit in either Math or Science    
  • Earn five and one-half credits in elective courses (½ credit must be obtained through one of our E-learning classes)
  • Courses that include a lab may have graduation credits adjusted
  • College courses may have graduation credits adjusted
  • All students must take an online e-learning course to graduate

Ohio High School Academic Diploma with Honors

In order for a student to receive an Ohio high school academic diploma with honors, for the graduating classes of 2011 and beyond, students must meet all but one of the following Ohio Department of Education criteria:
English - 4 units
Mathematics - 4 units, including Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II or equivalent and another higher level course or a four-year sequence of courses that contain equivalent content
Science - 4 units, including physics and chemistry
Social Studies - 4 units
Foreign Language - 3 units, including at least 2 units in each language studied
Fine Arts - 1 unit
Grade Point Average - 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
ACT/SAT Score [excluding scores from the writing sections] of 27 ACT / 1210 SAT.
