Troy Christian has a home school program for grades 7 – 12. Students enrolled in this program may home school all their courses or they may opt to take two classes on campus and home school the remaining classes. The school provides all course guidelines, plus textbooks, teacher materials, testing materials, answer keys, and on-line classes.
Each family is assigned an advisor who loves to help parents tailor courses for their students, and then brainstorm, troubleshoot, pray, and encourage. Students maintain a portfolio of work per subject, presenting and discussing their progress with their advisor each month. Students grow and mature through this process, plus parents are given the assistance necessary for their son or daughter’s success.
Some modular classes are offered to help students complete course goals in science (physical science and biology labs) and English (Writer’s Lab for composition and research papers). In addition, Book Club literature discussion groups meet several times each year.
Troy Christian Home School students can participate in Troy Christian sports, chapel, class activities, clubs, drama, band, National Honor Society, ESM (missions and community service), dual enrollment (for college credit), on-campus PSEO (for college credit), and more.
