Jr. High, which is sometimes called Middle School, is often seen as just a bridge between Elementary and High School. At Troy Christian we realize that Jr. High is more than just a place to be while you wait to get to High School. It is an important time for students to explore the exciting plans that God has for their life while continuing to become more independent and responsible. Boys and girls have separate Bible classes to aid in discussion and explore topics of importance to their gender. With the Jr. High being in the same building they are able to share in some of the fun activities that the High School students have like Spirit Days during Homecoming Week. They also have an academic advantage by being able to share faculty and resources with the High School for elective classes. Jr. High students also have a sense of community because their morning classes are held in their section of the building. To continue this community, special activities are held for just the Jr. High students. They have their own student council, mission trips, and retreats. The Jr. High Student Council also plans the National Day of Prayer for our community at the Miami County Courthouse and special chapels for the 5th – 8th graders. While Jr. High is a time to prepare for High School, at Troy Christian it is also a special place to grow!
