Alumnus Ben Swartz Canoeing 4 A Cause

On August 14, 2011, Troy Christian Alumnus Ben Swartz, Class of 2008, along with his cousin, Jon Detweiler, set out to canoe almost 2,000 miles to raise money for orphans and pastors in Mozambique, Africa. They started their journey at Sugar Creek in Eastern Ohio and plan to finish at the Gulf of Mexico, giving their adventure the title Sugar2Salt. The trip will last anywhere from 60 to 90 days to complete and they will paddle at least 30 miles per day. Below are links to news articles, facebook, twitter and their website.

“God wants you to succeed more then you want yourself to succeed! If you are following Jesus, and you desire to live life for Him, He will blow your mind with how He will provide for your dreams. Your dreams are His dreams; He gives you desires, passions, and skills, so why wouldn’t He provide all that’s needed? God is good, never forget that!”
